London calling

Well apart from a few hiccoughs on the first day (missing camera, needing the French resident permit to get into the UK while it was safely tucked away in a box in Lyon for safekeeping, then losing Roland’s sunglasses), things are great in London!

We’re staying with Katharina and Felix (a German couple I lived with in Toronto) who live in a student residence in South Kensington (read Porsches and Maseratis parked on the street) and we also met up with Laurie and Chris, friends from Toronto who are living in Leeds.

After a jacket potato and baked beans followed by cupcakes, we hopped on a bus to Camden where we hung out by the canal enjoying the people watching and a bottle of beer.

From Primrose hill, with a great view of London.

Sunday started with a great home-cooked English Breakfast complete with Bacon, toast, baked beans, eggs, and even mushrooms!

We then headed over to Spitalfields Market, which had great things to buy if we were at the end of our trip…

The Tate Modern had a rather fun installation in the basement with an interactive video screen showing the people in front of it with a time delay and distorting moving objects.

Basically we ran around and looked like snakes!

Glad to see you are on your way OK — trip, stumble!
It can only go uphill from here — I mean smooth sailing.
I’m reassured that many of the photos from London are with food or drink prominently displayed. Nice to know you have your priorities straight!

Bon voyage et bisous de Toronto!
