About us
We are Kathyrn and Roland
We decided to travel around the world from May 2009 to July 2010; you’ll find our story on this weblog! We had already travelled quite a bit together, in Canada and in France, and we always got along fine… At some point we decided to go a bit further, and got married… And we still got along fine!
So, it appeared to us that we’d never be readier than now to travel a whole year together, around the world ;-)
The trip turned out to be 14 months long, and good news: we are still getting along just fine!
The articles of this blog can be either in French or English; most of them are translated in both languages but it’s not necessarly the case.
About Kath:
Kath is from Saltspring Island, British Columbia,Canada but has been living in Lyon, France for the past 3 years, learning French, teaching English and eating cheese.
Kath likes (in no particular order): hiking, camping, the ocean, pretending she is a professional photographer, Pitchoune, baking bread, BC’s west coast, Scotland, deer, funny Franglish words
About Roland:
Roland, 30, is from Lyon, France, where he’s been working for the past 3 years as an IT manager.
What Roland likes: meeting new people, wine, good food, spending time with his friends, (litterally) going to the bottom of things, seeing the best in everyone, believing that he can change the world, chocolate.
What Roland doesn’t like: fennel, jogging, inactivity, French movies, people who stay on the middle lane on the highway.
